About Us
CHANGE MINDS is jointly run by the Change Minds Hub consisting of Norfolk Record Office and the Restoration Trust. In partnership with local archive services and mental health support services, they run iterations of Change Minds across the UK.
Norfolk Record Office is the Accredited Archive Service run by Norfolk County Council. In 2016, it developed Change Minds with the Restoration Trust for delivery at The Archive Centre in Norwich. Since then it has built up expertise in the use of historical archives for mental wellbeing work.
The Restoration Trust is a charity which initiates and runs projects that connect people who live with mental health issues with heritage, including archaeology, ancient landscapes, historic places and archives. Stimulating participants’ friendships, curiosity and imagination, these projects help people feel more human again.
The Restoration Trust’s vision is to change how people living with mental health challenges are treated, by means of therapeutic and creative interaction with heritage. We call this culture therapy, and we want it to become everyday good practice in heritage and mental health provision.
